Mesotherapy

Making the skin glow

What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is an advanced technique, used widely across the various medical fields: neurology, rheumatology, sports medicine, physical medicine, etc.

In the past ten years, mesotherapy has turned into the number one treatment when it comes to non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatments. When applied over a longer period, these treatments can delay the aging process and the need for surgical procedures. It is used for deep hydration of the skin of the face, neck and cleavage, treatment of cellulite and stretch marks, etc.

How is it applied?

The point of the treatment is to apply an active substance to the medium layer of the skin (the mesoderm), which allows the skin to receive care and nutrition where this is most needed and where the effect is expected to be most favorable. Since active substances are injected into the skin by using thin needles, resulting in countless microscopic damage sites, skin cells (fibroblasts) receive an additional boost, which causes them to start synthesizing new collagen and elastin.

The doctor will decide on the cocktail to be applied, depending on the issues which are being treated. Standard cocktails contain multivitamins, hyaluronic which restores hydration of the skin, minerals, aminic acids, and their ratio and concentration depend on specific factors.

Who is mesotherapy for?

Whether you are dealing with sun-caused skin damage, smoker’s complexion or dry and tired-looking skin, mesotherapy is an efficient method of restoring the skin’s lost balance and youthful glow and plumpness. In the case of normal, healthy skin, mesotherapy is used to maintain vitality and slow down aging. This type of treatment can be performed at any time of the year, regardless of the season.

Mesotherapy at Xenia center

Here at Xenia center, we combine the mesotherapy treatment of the face, neck, cleavage or hands with a previously applied NeoStrata chemical peeling to ensure full results. Glycolic acid in various concentration levels is applied to the skin, causing it to better prepare and absorb active ingredients. Depending on the status of the skin and the desired results, we apply the following types of treatment:

  • standard needle treatment – the so-called nappage technique or
  • the treatment using Dermapen, the latest, highly advanced device if we want to treat saggy, wrinkled skin and start the process of regeneration of higher intensity.

After treatment, the skin appears visibly rejuvenated – rested, plump and glowing.

How often should the treatment be performed?

The number and frequency of the treatments depend on the patient and their issues. Ideally, it consists of several appointments until the balance of the skin has been restored, after which the doctor will recommend maintenance treatments once a month or every two months.

Does the treatment have any side effects?

As most aesthetic procedures, mesotherapy is not to be performed in the following cases:

  • Active skin infections at the application site,
  • Autoimmune disorders of the skin,
  • Cancer,
  • Presence of a large number of moles,
  • Thrombocytopenia (low platelet count),
  • Pregnancy,
  • Diabetes.

At our facility, we solely use trusted brands such as Phiderma SR from the Canadian firm Prollenium which contains the optimal concentration and active substance ratio and leads to fast and permanent results.
